Dear mommies and readers,

I am having doubts on how to celebrate my baby Julie’s upcoming first birthday this coming July 14. I want to be special AND affordable. My husband and I were thinking of doing that party at a McDonald’s. He thinks that it is less hassle and less effort as well.

My mom, on the other hand, who has been hosting parties ever since I was a baby, wanted to do it the traditional way. Having the party in our house, cooking our own food, setting up our own tables, washing the plates and cleaning up the mess ourselves. My husband doesn’t want that much work.

I, unfortunately, am torn between 2 decisions – to have it in McDonald’s or to have it here in our place. I asked my cousin-in-law just a while ago about her experience in hosting her kids’ birthday parties in Jollibee and she told me that she spent around 12K for the older daughter, and around 10K for the youngest one. My mom told me that if we would host the party here in our house, it would cost almost the same (around 10K or so). My husband told me that the package offered in McDonald’s cost a maximum of 150+ per person, and if we invited 30 people, that’s 5K+ (which is half the cost of my cousin-in-law’s party). But of course, I wouldn’t really know unless I ask McDonald’s myself.

If ever I decided to have it in McDonald’s, I wanted the fastfood to have a playground for the kids. It’s really not a suitable place to have a children’s party especially if the place is small and doesn’t have a place to let the children wander and play with their friends.

Any insights? I really need some comments and suggestions. Please help!

USB flash drives were so popular when I was in college. Almost everyone in the class had one — not me. There were different designs, different gimmicks, all of which made college life easier for some since most of the professors’ lectures were in Microsoft Powerpoint Presentation. Most of my classmates were able to copy the lectures using their flash drive and as resourceful as I am, I usually asked one of my classmates who owned a USB flash drive to email me the lectures. I survived my entire college life just by taking down notes and listening to the class attentively, but of course, it’s normal to miss some pointers, so it was still best to have a copy of the lecture.

It was really great for the inventors of USB flash drives to come up with a great innovation. It really made life a bit easier. Thank you great inventors!

I slept for a few hours a while ago, and when I woke up, I checked if my Alexa ranking was fixed, and behold! It is now fixed, and I’m officially in 2.9M rank! It’s actually a great achievement on my part since almost a month ago, my ranking was 19.7M! It’s a great improvement don’t you think? I am so happy and thankful to my avid readers! Okay… I was checking on my blog and I found that my Alexa Rank in my Alexa toolbar has changed! It became 2.9M+! But I checked on the Alexa widget installed in my sidebar, it was still 19.7M! So I wanted to check what was the right Alexa ranking, and as I typed in my blog site’s URL, here is what I got (refer to the image).

The button says my rank is 19.7M, but the vertical banner says otherwise. So what is my REAL Alexa rank?!?!

I don’t know if this is just a glitch or it has something to do with my cookies, but this is really weird…
